Last Sunday marks Laba, a Chinese traditional festival that falls on the eighth day of the 12th lunar month. People around the country celebrate the festival by eating Laba congee. And Monks also hand out Laba congee to the citizens at the Laba Festival.
The ingredients of Laba Congee are full of nutrition. It is made of diversified rice, beans, and various types of nuts and dates. Sometimes the congee is decorated with coloured sweets or dried fruits. After 10 centuries of development, there are now over one hundred different cooking methods.
