This year our two holidays——the National Day and the Mid-autumn festival will take place concurrently on 1-8th October. 

 

The National Day 

On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was inaugurated. An official victory celebration and ceremony was held in Tian’an men Square. Henceforth, October 1st became a solemn celebration of the Chinese people of all nationalities.

The Mid-autumn festival

August 15th in Chinese Lunar Calendar is the Mid-Autumn Day.It is one of the most important traditional festivals in China.On this day people usually go back home to have family reunion.Each family will have the members get together to eat moon cakes and enjoy the moon.


Mid-Autumn Festival


In ancient times, moon cakes were a kind of offering to the moon. Over the centuries, these special cakes have become the most popular food of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The types of moon cakes are becoming more and more diverse. There are five kernels, bean paste, rose, lotus seed paste, sugar, black sesame, ginkgo, dried meat floss, ham ,yolk moon cakes, etc.. So which kind of moon cake is your favorite?
